Background:FcεR1α is subunit of the high affinity receptor for IgE to which IgE directly binds. FcεR1 is a tetrameric complex consisting of one α one β and two γ subunits. The latter two subunits are required for signal transduction activity. The FcεR1αcomplex plays an important role in triggering allergic responses.
The CRA2 (AER24) monoclonal antibody reacts with the FcεR1αsubunit on a region that overlaps the region of the IgE binding site thus it competes with IgE for the receptor binding. Since the CRA1 (AER37) monoclonal antibody reacts with the site different from the IgE binding site on FcεR1α it does not compete with IgE for the receptor binding. Combining the two antibodies one can quantitatively measure the amounts of the IgE-bound FcεR1α.

Background: Heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF) is synthesized as a membrane-anchored precursor that is proteolytically cleaved to release the soluble mature growth factor HB-EGF (1 2). The former functions as juxtacrine and the latter as paracrine growth factor. HB-EGF activates EGFR and ErbB4 and promotes the development of many tissues. In human ProHB-EGF is the cellular receptor for diphtheria toxin (3). Non-toxic mutant of diphtheria toxin CRM197 inhibit HB-EGF function which is elevated in most ovarian cancer is being tested as an anticancer drug (4).

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a small (55-65 nm in size) enveloped positive sense single-stranded RNA virus in the family Flaviviridae and the principal cause of parenteral non-A non-B hepatitis. The virus genome consists of a single open reading frame of approximately 94 kb which encodes a single polyprotein of about 3010 amino acids (1 2 3). The polyprotein is processed by host cell and viral proteases into four structural proteins (core envelope1 and 2 and p7) and six non-structural proteins (NS2 3 4a 4b 5a and 5b) necessary for viral replication. HCV core protein is not only a component of nucleocapsid but also has multiple functions and is a pathogenic factor for hepatitis. HIV-1 Gag p24 is a capsid protein that constitutes the core of AIDS virus HIV-1 and is produced by digestion of its precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. This protein is indispensable to the reproduction of AIDS virus and constitutes an essential element for the AIDS virus particle construction (1). p24 is used as a marker antigen for observing the patient’s condition after treatment as it indicates the amount of virus in the blood.
The product is prepared by immunizing rabbit with recombinant p24 protein which was over-expressed in E. coli with a plasmid carrying the Gag p24 coding region of HIV-1 virus subtype B (2) and was highly purified by several steps of chromatography (3 4).
Using this antiserum in Western blotting the bands of 24 kD 55 kD and 41 kD corresponding respectively to HIV-p24 and its precursors p55 and p41 were observed in the extract of the AIDS virus infected cells (Fig. 1).
This product is a biotinylated IgG ([biotin]/[IgG] = 8.0) produced from the purified IgG fraction of rabbit anti-p24 serum.

Therefore it is part of the epigenetic code and is also the most well characterized epigenetic mechanism. SUMO (Small Ubiquitin-like Modifier) proteins are a family of small proteins that are covalently attached to and detached from other proteins in cells to modify their function. Unlike ubiquitination which targets proteins for degradation SUMO modification plays a critical role in a number of cellular functions including nucleocytoplasmic transport gene expression cell cycle and formation of subnuclear structures such as promyelocytic leukemia (PML) bodies. There are three confirmed SUMO isoforms in human; SUMO1 SUMO2 and SUMO3. SUMO2 /3 show a high degree of similarity to each other and are distinct from SUMO1. Individual SUMO family members are all targeted to different proteins with diverse biological functions. SUMO1 is conjugated to RanGAP PML p53 and IκB-α to regulate nuclear trafficking formation of subnuclear structures regulation of transcriptional activity and protein stability. SUMO1 is encoded as a 101 aa protein and first Met and C-terminal 4 aa are removed from the preprotein.
The antibody was produced from the hybridoma cultured in serum-free medium and purified under mild conditions by propriety chromatography processes.
